Aadhaar, PAN or any ID — front and back at the right size on A4
Photographing a card and printing it straight away gives you the wrong size. This tool places the front and back at the standard card size (85.6 × 54 mm) on an A4 page with cutting lines. Up to four pairs fit on one page.
Both use the international ID-1 card size: 85.6 × 54 mm, the same as a debit card. That is why a printed Aadhaar that comes out at the right size slides neatly into a wallet slot, and one printed straight from a downloaded PDF usually does not.
The tool also offers a larger 105 × 74 mm card, a 70 × 70 mm square, and a custom size box if you are printing something unusual like a society membership card.
When you open a downloaded e-Aadhaar or e-PAN PDF and press print, the card lands somewhere on a full A4 page at whatever size the PDF happened to use — often noticeably too big. This page takes the card image instead and places it at an exact millimetre size, several to a sheet, so what you cut out is the size a real card is.
If your card is inside a PDF rather than an image, run the PDF through PDF to JPG first, then bring the image back here. If the PDF is password-locked, open it with the password, screenshot the card and use the screenshot.
Upload both sides and they print side by side, so you cut out two pieces and glue them back to back. This is simpler and far more reliable than trying to print on both sides of the same spot on a home printer, where the alignment is almost never right.
For a stiffer card, print on thick paper (200 gsm or more) or paste the printout onto a piece of old card and trim it. Lamination shops will laminate a paper card for a few rupees and it will then survive a wallet.
A printout of your own downloaded e-Aadhaar is a normal thing to carry, and the PVC card ordered from UIDAI is the official plastic version. What a home printout is not is an official PVC card, so do not present it as one. For your own convenience — keeping a copy in a wallet, carrying it to an office that wants to see it — a correctly sized printout is perfectly ordinary.
Print only your own documents and those of your family. Printing someone else's ID without their knowledge is not something this tool is for.
They are cropped from the centre automatically so the card comes out at the exact size.
The sheet is made for A4. If you have a PVC printer, import the card-size PDF into its own software.

No. The sheet is built inside your browser and the image never leaves your device. For an identity document that is the whole point.
Yes. Printing cannot add detail that is not in the photo. Rescan the card flat on a table in good light, or use the Document Scanner on this site to straighten and sharpen it first.
One card front and one back per sheet, repeated up to four times. For different cards, make separate sheets.
Plain A4 works for a quick copy. For something that will live in a wallet, use thick paper or glue the printout to card and get it laminated.
Your printer scaled the page down. Print again with scaling set to 100% or 'Actual size', and check the box that says 'Fit to page' is unticked.
