About Delete PDF Pages

Scanning almost always leaves a few blank or duplicate pages behind. Type the page numbers you want gone and download a clean PDF.

How to delete pages from a PDF — step by step

  1. Upload the PDF.
  2. Type the pages to delete — for example 2,5-9,14.
  3. Download the cleaned-up file.

The pages nobody wants

Scanners produce blank backs of single-sided sheets. Downloaded forms carry three pages of instructions before the form itself. Bank statements arrive with a page of terms at the end. Removing them makes the file smaller and stops an office wading through pages that do not matter.

Count positions in the file, not the numbers printed on the paper. The first sheet in the PDF is page 1 even if it is labelled 'ii' or carries no number at all.

Keeping instead of deleting

If you want to keep only a handful of pages out of many, it is quicker to extract them than to list everything you are removing. Split / Extract PDF does that. And if you want to reorder as well as remove, Organize Pages shows every page as a thumbnail so you can see what you are doing.

Frequently asked questions

How many pages can I remove at once?

As many as you like — write something like 2,5-9,14. You just cannot remove every page.

Are these the page numbers printed on the page?

No. The first page in the PDF is page 1, whatever number happens to be printed on it.

Will the file get bigger?

No — removing pages makes it smaller.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser.

Does the original change?

No. You download a new file; the original is untouched.

Can I remove every page?

No — a PDF must keep at least one page.

Will the file get smaller?

Yes, roughly in proportion to the pages removed.

Can I undo it?

Not in the tool, but your original file is still there unchanged.
